Some want strikes and disobedience to raise awareness of the climate crisis, some want them to protest against any climate crisis policies being introduced, some want them to protest US proxy wars and some think that stopping US proxy wars would put us in danger.
Do politicians care what is being protested against? Or are they just glad to lock more people up?
Strikes and civil disobedience are bloody and terrible and our economies are already in recession. Who will suffer the most; the poorest, the elderly, frail and disabled or politicians and the richest? Thatcher broke the miners and Labour broke the RMT. In today’s international labour market, companies would simply cease to trade with the UK, further damaging our economy and opportunities for trade with the world.
What we need to do is expose the lies that keep us bickering, ignorant, fat, sick and on drugs. We don’t need to break our energy on resisting power; which only makes it stronger.
We’re not going to vote our way out. Nor are we going to protest our way out.
We need to keep on pointing out the trail leading to the money; over and over and over again.
And we need to keep our eyes on the money trail to avoid falling into carefully laid traps. Happy to see the wheels coming of the carnivore cult, with the predictable low energy, constipation, stokes, sleepless nights, scurvy and cheating leading to the extolling of broccoli, fruit and even whole food plant based.
We’d benefit more from civil discussion than from civil disobedience.
General working together, trying to understand opposing views, cooperation and, I’m going to say it; loving and respecting one another will be far more effective and less harmful than General Strikes and Revolution.
If governments and the MIC in the West could indeed be overthrown by a revolution then it would be very helpful to have some agreement on how to prevent our economies from bombing during the upheaval, on how to maintain care (which depends on the economy), on what to replace the present system with and on how to prevent new leaders from becoming even more autocratic or from constantly deposing one another.
Peace cannot be made by people who aren’t peaceful. Love cannot be found by people who aren’t loving.

If protest is a waste of time, how did India throw off Britain's colonial rule?
