A £4 million government promotion to encourage the eating of meat and dairy
THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY TO STOP YOU EATING ANIMAL PRODUCTS. Nor to eat ze bugs.
From Carbon brief
A £4m advertising campaign aimed at convincing young people to eat more meat and dairy has been released in the UK, with support from the government, DeSmog reported. Timed to coincide with Veganuary (a popular challenge where people go vegan for January), the “Let’s Eat Balanced” campaign – voiced by British comedian Richard Ayoade – targets cinema screens, TVs, newspapers, social media channels and major supermarkets, DeSmog said. The campaign attempts to communicate the health benefits of eating meat and dairy, which “flies in the face of science”, experts told DeSmog. It was developed by the PR agency Ogilvy, which counts BP as a former client, and is run by the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board, a UK government-appointed board funded by farmers’ levies.’
Eating meat and dairy is not rebellious, anti globalist freedom fighting you numbnuts. It’s just supporting exploitation for profit.
A 2012 silly (as well as unnecessary; all plant cells contain protein) idea of feeding humans insects grew legs in 2022 with ‘you will eat ze bugs’ being delivered to the world in a Germanic accent at a vanity project of rich people.
The animal ag cartels had realised that many people were waking up to livestock’s long shadow and so the lie of an agenda to control the food supply (the cartels already control the food supply) and to make us eat insects was hatched.
Many have fallen for it; hook, line and sinker.

Celia Farber did a post or two on the virtues of the carnivore diet. I was frustrated when Rachel Carson's book was referenced as the post gave a over reduced impression that the problem with pesticides is tied to a vegetarian or vegan diet and isn't larger than that. It strikes me that going from compromised crops to organically raised meat may help a lot of people but probably more due to the compromised over sprayed crops than meat vs. plant. I also suspect people with different lineages are going to respond differently to food. That if long ago your ancestors lived off the sea, or off rice paddies, or in my case off of potatoes...well...you may be better and digesting those sources of nutrition than other options. Its frustrating when you have to begin to suspect everyone has some anterior motives or funding that may be tilting their otherwise very astute sense making.
Odd that balanced diet is the actual elephant in the diet room. Extreme agricultural practices in both livestock and plants is the abhorrent removal of the sacred from the earth, life and our bodies.
