Why did Hamas carry out the October 7 raid? It seems like it was a set-up. They had to know it wouldn't lead anywhere for them. And they had to know Israel would want to respond in a strong way so that this wouldn't happen again? So what was the point? It was like a single punch in a boxing match. No one who wants to win does something to provoke a fight that they won't win.

Unless the follow-up punch was to have all the demonstrations we're seeing in Europe and the US. The concerted effort to paint Israel as the bad guy. And they have gotten somewhere with this. Many have been convinced. That's the subject of this post, that they've won the propaganda war. And the raid was the opening sally.

I've been wondering what the real story is here. I know it's a complex situation, much like family in-fighting. But this latest exchange makes me think this latest flare is to win the propaganda war. I just saw somewhere that 71% of Palestinians totally support the raid. The raid was heinous.

Something isn't adding up here.
