The human mind prefers to be spoon-fed with the thoughts of others, but deprived of such nourishment it will, reluctantly, begin to think for itself
Agatha Christie ' The Moving Finger'
Apologies for my last impulsive, confusing and garbled post. Here is the, hopefully, clearer version.
Being pro animal cruelty and not believe climate change is happening because some people in power tell you that you should be anti animal cruelty and that climate change (climate Emergency is of course fake) is happening, (because they want you to stop causing so much climate change to allow themselves to continue to abuse animals, eat dead flesh, milk and eggs and fly in their private jets, while preserving the planet for their descendants, seems very silly.
And destructive. Like cutting off you nose to spite your face.
I’ve had lots of fun posting and even more fun reading your comments which have challenged me, made me smile, made me feel welcomed, heard and appreciated and helped me immeasurably to clarify my thoughts and reach a deeper understanding.
I think I might be awake on some things, who knows, but that doesn’t mean that I’m awake to everything. The challenge is to impartially observe and not see and hear what I want or expect to see and hear. Science is unbiased, that’s why using controls, blinding researchers to placebo and treatment, peer review, checking reproducibly and declaring conflicts of interest became the scientific method, although now of course it’s all gone to pot.
I think stilling the mind is the only way to wake up and become aware of how much we’re being controlled. This can be supported by limiting the addictive stream of images, words and opinions coming at it through the screen.
So that’s what I’m going to try to do for a bit.
It’s been a blast, though SS is getting annoyingly commercialised of late xxx

"the addictive stream of images, words and opinions coming at it through the screen."
This is definitely one of the greatest problems we face right now.
Information overload and fatigue.
I certainly don't enjoy the overwhelming nature of endless email-based comment response streams!
Not enough time in the day.
Other things to do.
If we could just get other people to stop responding like headless chickens every time a new scare comes along that would save us all a lot of time.
Jo, we don't see eye to eye on Every Single Thing, but I don't care. I value you highly. Too bad about the boot off Dr. Sam's page, but maybe it was an assistant, who knows?
The ducks flying by my window agree with you... xo xo
