The law is an ass
And the UN should be recused
Hamas is the battered wife who tries to murder her husband after many years of imprisonment and severe psychological and physical abuse.
More accurately Israel is the pimp who uses beatings and psychological torture to control a groomed and trafficked young sex worker (slave), who is blamed when they step out of line or try to escape.
A court of law, that she or he previously appealed to, many times, may take this major diminished responsibility into account when trying and sentencing them.
Unfortunately the UN is the court of law and the husband's friend has the right to veto anyone attempt to stop the abuse or hear the wife’s case. And the syndicate of pimps allows the racket to continue.
Supporters siding with the husband tell the battered wife or prostitute that it's her fault, she's in no way innocent and she should stop with all the moaning. Basically they're saying to Hamas 'take the pain bitch!'
The UN and ICJ should be recused for bias and failing to be able to stop massive breaches of International Humanitarian Law by Israel for many decades.

I use this analogy often. The battered wife striking back and being blamed. The husband will say, Why did you hit me? It's so insane. And the courts will often side with the husband. Women are in jail for killing their abusive husbands. A female judge wouldn't do that though!!
