Why neither cartels, nor the IPCC, want you to be vegan.
They've been using reverse psychology.
Eating animals is the root of colonialism, racism and sexism. Seeing other animals as commodities and valuing status by how many one ‘owns’ or how many our money can buy, is the root of capitalism. Seeing other people as animals and treating them accordingly only happens because we see other animals as inferior.
Using land (either in our own countries or colonised ones), that could be forested to suck down co2, to produce energy inefficient animal products is being undercounted as the major cause of the environmental and climate crises. The amount of co2 in the atmosphere could be reduced without the need for new tech. Due to the albedo effect of the pollution caused by fossil fuels, we’d be better off reforesting before reducing emissions from burning them, to avoid rapid warming. Stopping the annual bottom trawling of the ocean, the size of South America, would allow the oceans to heal.
In 2019 veganism was going strong. Hence the ‘covid’ debacle which deliberately targeted dissent with sneering and jeering of environmentalism. Vegans were apparently fooled by ‘globalist’ Bill Gates who wanted them, for some inexplicable, counter-intuitive reason, not to eat animal products.
This led those opposing the cartel’s colonialism to actively support it. It helped to elect Trump. ‘Grass-fed beef’, only available to white elites, taking up acres of land, became the new sustainable thing. RFK, who had done great work on vaccines, pesticides and factory farming as sources of disease, had to be seen supporting MacDonalds and other MAGAt donors.
The cartels of fossil fuel, fertilizer, pharma, animal ag, tech and banking, who are all underwritten by the same share-holders, do not allow scientific committees such as the IPCC to talk about the impact of animal agriculture. They prefer instead to focus on growth industries, such as carbon capture and renewables. However, if the population took back control and went vegan tomorrow, the economy of animal ag, the biggest user of pharma products by far, would crash. They would be defunded. The fertiliser industry would be growing 50% less crops and the pharma industry, which also profits from keeping the population fat, sick and on statins and viagra, would also be significantly reduced.
The egg and dairy industry allows chicken nuggets and burgers to be cheap because the spent hens and cows have already been paid for. Animal products in the US are made even cheaper by using prison labour. The prison population is deliberately maintained with strong people able to do the work in slaughter, rendering and meat grinding. Slavery, of animals and people, is alive and well.
Many of us are unable to stop using fossil fuels. However, we have the power to start cooling and decolonising the planet tomorrow. We just have to use it.
