Greenhouse gases may or may not be causing a climate crisis but this does not mean we can continue as we are and do anything we want to the ecosystem and planet that we’ve evolved on without some major consequences.
We cannot conveniently ignore air pollution, plastic waste, megatons of landfill, deforestation, poisoning of oxygen producing plankton, extreme species loss, pollinator loss, sucking up tonnes of rock, oil and gas from under our feet and setting fire to it, over-fishing, enormous food and resource inequality across the world and massive scale animal torture; I think that those thinking 8 billion people and rising can all have all the meat they want produced from animals living in bucolic bliss as part of the family and happy to die at 6 months or that they can have dairy from cows who don’t mind their sons being taken away from them and murdered or turned into veal or their daughters entering the same cycle of rape and bereavement; are living in cloud cuckoo land.
We can’t ignore the realities of slaughter houses and meat packing, nor the soil depletion from the vast amount of land required for GMO crops of corn and soy to feed 80 billion factory farmed animals, nor pesticide toxicity nor the obesity, dementia, depression, loneliness and autism crises.
We are so out of balance
Mother Earth will simply shake us off and rebalance herself, and quite right too.
The illusion of separation from and control over the rest of ‘nature’ are the problems. Though our birth right is indeed freedom, we can all say and do anything that we want, I believe that our consciousness/true nature speaks with unconditional love so we know it when we say or hear it. The ego mind/fear/deluded separate self does not and does not have anything helpful to say.
I’m listening to myself now.

PS Tom Cowan has apparently found a tribe of people who eat zero fibre and live on a mix of fermented blood and another animals breast milk which allegedly gives long life and heathy bowel movements. Mmmm sounds delicious.
This is absurd. Part of the reason I stuck to my diet was the unalloyed joy I discovered in it. Of biting into a crisp red pepper or a roasted broccoli floret with soy and lemon juice, shelling and cooking raspberry ripple coloured borlottli beans; which make you feel satiated and happy even just a few minutes after eating them, a bowl of wholegrain pasta with tahini, unlimited juicy and ripe fruits, berries with porridge and nut butter.
The blissful daily, smooth, soft, easy sausages made me realise I’d been constipated all my life and 6 months in I swear I could feel the nutrients coursing round my blood system. Once we have experienced how delicious it is and how wonder planets makes us feel, we don't have to listen to any more dietary advise nonsense from anyone.
Thank you for this! I cannot believe that people zero in on "climate has always changed" as though that absolves us from the terrible things we do to Earth and her living creatures. Some days I think we deserve to be wiped out in this 6th great extinction; while I see signs globally of people making different/better choices, and becoming more aware (see We Are the Ark for a wonderful way to restore the earth one property at a time) I see more unconsciousness than ever. It's clearly a race to see if we can wake up before we hit the tipping point of no return.
Men’s only solution to all problems is to dominate. Of course, it’s folly. Once we realize the planet is a live thing, learn how to co-create with the sentience that is the universe, illusion will fall and balance will return. As it is, all this suffering, this rampant psychopathy, is just the catalyst that squeezes us into the next level of evolution. We’re getting there. I think.
