Very much appreciated the mention of the effect on the humans who work in the CAFO-industry. When I first went vegan and took my deep dive into everything related, the stories I read from former workers were soul crushing. Even for people who truly honestly don't give a crap about non-human animals, they seem utterly oblivious to the psychological damage done to the people who they are paying to do their killing for them. I feel like telling every non-vegan person to go do one single 8-hour shift in a slaughterhouse and then come back and tell me they think that whole thing is OK. and indeed, if you prefer stats to personal stories, the stats show unequivocably that there are higher rates of substance abuse and domestic violence among slaughterhouse workers.

I thought, when I went vegan 6.5 years ago, that it would get 'easier' with time, that I would become less upset, less bothered, less hurt by the anti-vegan pushback. Instead it seems to distress me more and more as the years go by, and on a purely personal level, I don't know how to stop that. I cannot stop caring about the issue, so if I care about it, how can I stop being upset? A conundrum. Thank you for continuing to speak the truth, for your courage and integrity.

Just about sums it up.....I couldn't agree more. Blessings from a 76 year old vegan who is very healthy and not one big pharma pill, although I do take supplements!

Our fellow creatures deserve defenders like you, Jo. THANK YOU for doing this!!

It's vile, what psychopaths do, without any concern for anyone or anything but themselves. So horrible. I'd like to be part of the END to animal cruelty!

As for the climate, it seems that it's really about what the SUN does, and humans have very little impact, except in a very short-term and minimal way... That said, we have NO business trashing the oceans, the land, other beings, each other, etc etc.

There is a vast epidemic of helplessness and depression among humans... I'd say first off we might take out all this EMF toxicity, that seems a good place to start, and maybe at the same time, shut down the ever-fucking weather manipulation and aerosol spraying... NOW. Yesterday!!!

I quit eating chicken and turkey years ago. Chicken has no taste, and the poor animals are dreadfully and inhumanely treated. Turkey is not far behind, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas..

The keto link is to an abstract. I’m curious what food source they used for the fat. As you say in your Parkinson’s link, if you eat tainted food, you’re going to get sick whatever the macro composition is.

I personally try to eat a balance of the three macros from high quality sources, but generally more protein than carbs.

Wow. So apparently there's no division between raising say, chickens, where they can "free range" and eat bugs and worms and be outside, etc. -- that, and stuffing a whole lot of chickens into a building where they are treated as commodities and killed in the worst way possible because it's cheap...

No difference?

No middle ground?

Other animals eat other animals, are they also worthy of being "enslaved" as you seem to be agreeing should be done with humans?

I'm a live and let live person, but this is really sounding divisive and... well, kind of horrifying. WTF. Sounds like the Wokies who want to put the unjabbed into concentration camps...

Whatever happened to Peace and Love? Allowing other people to differ in various ways? I always advocate for healthy, decent treatment for ANY animal... There IS a "middle ground." This is sounding more like "MY way or the highway (or the jail)." Is this what happens when vegans get together?? : ( I understand everyone is stressed out and freaky, but... seriously?
